A local church had a festival over the weekend so we took H to ride some rides and play some games. We had a lot of fun as usual. Pics on the Picasa site.
The German Shepherd mix we were fostering didn't work out in the end. He loved me, Amy and Helena but he had trouble adjusting to the kids coming to the house all the time. I tried to socialize him but he ended up lunging at the little girl next door when I scared him. I don't think he was going to bite her since he actually got his mouth onto her hand. He was just trying to warn her to stay back. After he did it he went into a completely submissive position on his back. He knew he did something wrong. Unfortunately it made everyone too nervous.
Since he never got examined by an animal behaviorist like he was supposed to before we got him, he's going to stay with her so she can check him out and try to help him. It's too bad because with us he was super affectionate and loyal. He is an extremely smart dog and a good listener and I have no doubt he'll make a great pet for someone. I was just kind of hoping it would be me.
