Lots of big changes lately! I got a new job, which is not nearly as stressful as the last. That's been a great thing for all of us. I have nothing but respect and a little fear for people who choose to make a career out of help desk work. I will not miss it however.
Helena is getting a huge surprise for her birthday this year. In fact it's so huge I can't mention it here in case she learns to read in the next month. She already learned how to how to smelt copper at school so I don't put anything past her. Anyway, this big surprise necessitates travel, and a hotel stay, and probably Mickey ears... The kind of thing you carry a camcorder for. And since our busted old 23 pound sofa of a 1999 camcorder can't even zoom anymore, we figured we'd buy a new one. We ended up with the Canon ZR500 which is absolutely tiny. I'm used to needing a loaf of bread and gallon of water to recover after using the old camcorder. The new one is so small, I'm pretty sure it comes with a wristband that lets it double as a spiffy watch.
Wait I'm not done yet! Amy and I always said, when Helena was able to ask for her ears to be pierced, she could have it done. Well she asked... and we let her mull it over a day... and she still asked. So we took her to the mall and she got them pierced. Then she cried for a minute and got over it. That was a good way to bring up ice cream. At that point I'm pretty sure the ice cream was more for me than her.
OK last thing. Yes it's about Helena again. She's been selected to move up to the invitation only level for the youngsters in gymnastics. Amy says it's a big deal, which it probably is because H is really doing well and likes 'nastics. But it also costs more money.. so uh yay us!
